In the beginning of the 2017/18 agricultural season, navigation in the Kerch Strait was restricted because of the construction of a bridge linking the Crimean and Taman peninsulas. From now on, to enter the Azov Sea, the vessel is to be at most 33 m high above the water surface and at most 160-m long. Thus, Panamax-type vessels are no more able to pass there.
