Kazakhstan boosted grain exports by 38% in MY 2018/19

Kazakhstan exported 2.2 MMT of grain in September-November 2018/19, or 38% more than in the same period in MY 2017/18. In particular, wheat exports increased by 27%, to 1.5 MMT, and those of barley gained 72%, to 648.3 KMT. The wheat was shipped mostly to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, while the barley went to Iran, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

Kazakh wheat flour exports in the reporting period was down 10% year-on-year at 591.5 KMT. The commodity was purchased largely by Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
