Ukraine. Palm oil imports from Malaysia up 35%

Ukraine imported 16.3 KMT of palm oil in January 2019, or 6.5% more than in the previous month and up 44.2% from January 2018. Combined palm oil imports in the first five months of this 2018/19 season were down 9.6% at 91.9 KMT against 101.7 KMT a year earlier, reports UkrAgroConsult.

This season, Malaysia accounted for 66% of total palm oil imports, Indonesia’s share equaled 32%, and re-exporting countries supplied 2% of the commodity. Purchases from Malaysia increased by 35.3% against the same time last season, while deliveries from Indonesia slumped by 28%.

In addition, Ukraine stopped buying palm oil from Honduras this marketing year, though it imported more than 12 KMT from this country in the same period last season.
