Ukrainian farmers had planted 2050 Th ha of early spring grains by April 16 (91% of their target area). This is up 67% year-on-year and 4% ahead of the five-year average. Noteworthy is that the Ag Ministry of Ukraine has reduced its forecast for planted acreage of early spring grains by 1%, from 2284 Th ha to 2260 Th ha.
Corn planting is already underway all over Ukraine, except for Kherson region.
Fertilization of winter grains was 99% complete as of that date, with 6401 Th ha of winter wheat, 113 Th ha of winter rye and 993 Th ha of winter barley fertilized, reports UkrAgroConsult.
