Ukraine. Sunseed crushing fell to a season low in July

In July 2017/18, sunflower oil production by Ukrainian large and medium-sized crushers fell to a season low of 198.6 KMT. Moreover, this was the lowest July figure in five seasons, reports UkrAgroConsult.

This season’s output of sunflower oil is still close to a record high. However, as sunseed crushing plummeted towards the end of the season, it became 15.3% behind last year against 11% a month earlier. So, sunflower oil production in September-July 2017/18 slumped to 4530.4 KMT against 5349.4 KMT a year ago.

According to UkrAgroConsult’s forecasts, 5.6 MMT of sunflower oil (incl. small facilities) will be produced in the 2017/18 season.
