Ukraine. Productive soil moisture continued falling

Weather conditions. The weather on July 18-22 was moderately warm, with temperature swings between night and day. The average daily air temperature in most regions was at 17-21°С, i.e. 1-5°С below normal. The highest air temperature reached 27-31°С (34°С in the south), while the lowest was registered at 9-16°С.

Moisture supply. Due to precipitation deficits in the central and partially in southern regions, productive soil moisture available to crops continued falling. Increasingly large corn and sunflower areas have insufficient and poor amounts of soil moisture, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Crop condition is mostly good and fair. Weather conditions had mixed effects on crop growing. Despite the significant slowdown in heat accumulation, crop development is 1-2.5 weeks ahead of long-term average due to June’s heat buildup.
