561.75 KMT of Russian barley was exported in August (+11% from July and -5% from August 2020/21). Barley exports since the season’s beginning had totaled 1068 KMT (-18% y-o-y).

Apart from Saudi Arabia, a slump is seen in purchases by Jordan, which were down 64% from July-August 2020/21.

The following countries stepped up purchases compared to the same time last year: Iran (doubled), Libya (+18%).

In August, Russian barley was shipped to Iraq (63 KMT), for the first time since March 2019.
