December’s Ukrainian wheat exports totaled 1.17 MMT (down 51% from November and +137% from December 2020/21). Almost 16 MMT had been exported this season (a record high for this time), or up 28% y-o-y, UkrAgroConsult reports.
In December, the highest volume was shipped to Turkey (262 KMT).
Egypt slashed purchases of Ukrainian wheat in December – 195 KMT versus 577 KMT in November.
Saudi Arabia had purchased 640 KMT of Ukrainian wheat since the beginning of the season, or ten times as much as in the entire 2020/21 season.
The following countries stepped up purchases from last season: Indonesia (+21%), Egypt (+57%), Turkey (almost threefold), Yemen (+1%).
Lower demand is observed from the following importers: Pakistan (-4% y-o-y), Bangladesh (-30%), Morocco (-31%), Tunisia (-10%), Philippines (-27%).
