Sunflower seed exports from Russia in September-November 2021/22 were at a three-year low of 30.6 KMT (down 93% y-o-y).

The slump in exports occurred amid a 50% tax on sunseed exports outside the EAEU, which is to be in force until September 1, 2022, UkrAgroConsult reports.

The top importers this season are Kazakhstan and Belarus.

Shipments to the EU plummeted to 0.4 KMT from 225 KMT a year earlier.

Growth in exports was registered to the following markets: Hungary (+156%), Kazakhstan (+89%), Mongolia (+57%).

A slowdown in exports was fixed to China (-99%), Georgia (-91%) and Belarus (-16%).
