Along with a noticeable slowdown in Ukrainian flour exports, MY 2018/19 witnesses a corresponding decrease in wheat bran supplies to foreign markets, reports UkrAgroConsult. Ukraine shipped abroad 28.5 KMT of wheat bran in September 2018/19 that is 15.5% less than in August and down 9.1% from September 2017/18.
88.4 KMT of wheat bran was exported in Q1 2018/19 (July-September), or 31% less than in the same period a year ago.
In Q1 2018/19, wheat bran shipments were made to Turkey, Israel and the EU. Turkey is the biggest buyer of Ukrainian wheat bran – the country absorbed nearly 95% of its total exports. However, supplies to the Turkish market in the reporting period were down 32% year-over-year.
As a reminder, Ukrainian wheat bran exports in MY 2017/18 totaled a record 635.1 KMT that was also just 3.3% more than in MY 2016/17.
