According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, 5.6 M mt of sunflower oil were exported in 22/23 MY. On average, exports reached 470 K mt per month, which is an impressive figure compared to previous seasons, especially considering the breakdown of grain trade logistics. Before the war, half of the sunflower oil was exported through terminals near Mykolaiv, and these terminals have been blocked for over 19 months.
The maximum monthly export in the last season 2022\23 was in March, 2023 – 584 K mt. It should be noted that the record monthly export of sunflower oil was in November 2020 – 757 K mt. In 2022/23, exports per month were lower on average, which was due to external factors rather than exporters’ intentions.
