Ukrainian rye exports during the first four months of MY 2018/19 (July – October) totaled 62.5 KMT that is a record high for this period. To compare, Ukraine exported 38.2 KMT of rye for the whole of MY 2017/18, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Ukraine exported 14.7 KMT of rye in October 2018/19, or 45.5% less than in the previous month (26.9 KMT) but twice as much as in October 2017/18 (7,3 KMT).
The top consumer of Ukrainian rye is the European Union, which absorbed over 68% of its overall exports in the reporting period. EU countries imported 42.5 KMT of rye at the time against 26.9 KMT in the whole of MY 2017/18.
In addition, this season, Ukrainian rye exporters have started developing new markets such as Philippines and Libya.
