Ukrainian grain export rates lag behind last year’s by 5 mln tons

15 April, 2025 at 16:04

The pace of Ukrainian grain exports in the 2024/25 season is 5 million tons behind last year's - as of April 14, 33.89 million tons were exported, while last year the figure was 38.61 million tons. Corn accounts for the largest share - 17.72 million tons, followed by wheat - 13.42 million tons. In April, grain supplies remained moderate, with only 1.07 million tons shipped in the first two weeks.

Despite the backlog, the outlook for the year remains optimistic. The USDA has updated its estimate of Ukraine's wheat exports to 16 million tons, and production of the main crops - wheat and corn - is expected to exceed 50 million tons.
