27 May, 2025 at 16:05

Ukraine 2024 SB harvest was record, entirely due to record area. Yield, however, dropped — the lowest in four years due to the 2024 drought.

Soy exports (Sep 2024–Apr 2025) hit a record. As of early May, this is 77% of the export forecast in 2024/25.

Soybean Oil Market. Exports – Record Highs, New Markets, 2024/25

  • Export potential – (80% already shipped)
  • Soybean oil exports (Sep–Apr) – (+54% y/y)

Soymeal Exports – Explosive Growth in 2024/25

  • Export potential – (69% already delivered)
  • Soymeal exports (Sep–Apr) – (+77% y/y)

2024/25 Trends to Watch:

  • Domestic crushing is now a structural driver
  • Export + processing flexibility = resilience for producers
  • Geopolitical risks continue to reshape logistics and buyer geography
  • Soy markets remain heavily Euro-focused, but Ukraine is breaking into Asia and MENA again.

2025/26 Outlook: Mixed Signals on Area and Profitability

As of mid-May, weather improved, late spring crop planting gained momentum, and soybean sowing is now at its fastest pace in five years.

UkrAgroConsult’s latest projection:

Soybean area in 2025 is expected to decrease (-9% y/y), yet it would still be the second-largest in Ukraine’s history.
