The Black Sea-Danube-Balkan region is increasingly focused on rapeseed processing, biodiesel production and exports of value-added products. Growing demand for rapeseed oil from the energy sector continues to reshape regional trade flows and strengthen the role of the crushing industry.
Ukraine is steadily increasing exports of rapeseed oil and meal while reducing its reliance on raw seed exports. This creates new competitive challenges for European crushers, particularly in countries facing structural rapeseed deficits and significant processing capacity.
Poland and Bulgaria continue to require imported raw materials to maintain crushing activity, while imports of processed products from Ukraine are becoming increasingly important. At the same time, Romania remains one of the key suppliers of rapeseed to the European market thanks to strong production potential and active export activity.
At the start of the new season, the rapeseed market is supported by biodiesel demand, while weather risks and uncertainty in energy markets continue to underpin positive price expectations.
