Romania. Severe and moderate soil drought persists in the east and southeast of the country

Elevated air temperatures (4-6°С above long-term normals) stayed all over the country this past week. Their average varied within +5..+16°С.

Precipitation occurred everywhere (5-10 mm over the week), with higher rates in the north and south (some 25 mm). Severe and moderate soil drought persists in the east and southeast of the country.

Winter wheat and barley are in the tillering stage, while winter rape plants have started stem elongation. Farmers continue sowing early spring crops, reports UkrAgroConsult.
