Romanian farmers continue sowing early spring crops

Elevated air temperatures persisted in Romania this past week. The average air temperature exceeded its normal level by 9..12°С in the south and southeast and by 4..8°С in the rest of the country. The average daytime air temperature varied within +7..+14°С.

Precipitation in the form of rain occurred mostly in northern and central parts of the country (10-15 mm over the week). The excessively warm weather leads to the spreading of soil drought in the south and southeast of the country.

Winter wheat is in the stages of tillering and stem elongation, while winter rape plants are at the beginning of stem elongation. Farmers continue sowing early spring crops, reports UkrAgroConsult.
