Ukraine. Harvesting progress, July 18, 2019

According to the latest information as of July 18:

• The Ag Ministry slightly raised its harvested area forecasts for the following crops:

• early grains and pulses, from 9740 Th ha to 9760 Th ha (+0.2%),
• wheat, from 6612 Th ha to 6620 Th ha (+0.1%),
• barley, from 2504 Th ha to 2525 Th ha (+0.8%);

• The harvested area forecasts were reduced for:

• peas, from 287 Th ha to 282 Th ha (-1.6%),
• winter rape, from 1292 Th ha to 1289 Th ha (-0.2%);

• Wheat harvest slowed down, being just 4% ahead of last year now;
• Harvest of the following crops is ahead of last year:

• barley (+37%),
• oats (+9%),
• winter rapeseed (+16%);

• Harvest of peas and rye slowed down, being 18% and 20% behind last year, respectively;
• The following crops show higher yields than last year:

• wheat (+11.4%),
• barley (+9.2%)
• rye (+15.8%),
• peas (+39.3%),

• Winter rapeseed yield is down 7.6% from a year ago.
