210.7 KMT of sunflower seed was exported in September-May 2018/19 that is up 142% year-on-year. The rise was caused by high demand from all major importers along with a bumper crop. A surge in exports is observed in the latter half of the season, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The largest share of sunflower seed exports (40%) went to Turkey, which increased purchases fourfold.
The markets of Sudan and Paraguay have been opened in MY 2018/19. Growth in exports is registered to the following markets: Kazakhstan (+372%), Belarus (+56%), Armenia (+396%), China (+513%).
