Egypt may admit Indian wheat to purchase tenders

Egypt is examining Indian wheat for admittance to international purchase tenders, said the head of the country’s Quarantine Service on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

According to UkrAgroConsult, Egypt has held 19 tenders since the beginning of MY 2019/20. It purchased 4.850 MMT of wheat, including 1.005 MMT of Ukrainian origin. 15 GASC tenders were held in the same period of MY 2018/19, where 4.450 MMT of wheat was bought, including 540 KMT of Ukrainian origin.

The average purchase price in the wheat tenders in January 2020 is $247.39/MT C&F against $263.90/MT C&F in January 2019.
