Crop condition:
- Warm weather and sufficient soil moisture in the northern regions were favorable for yield formation in late-sown industrial crops;
- Plant growth in the eastern, southern and central regions was inhibited by insufficient soil moisture and high air temperatures.
Moisture supply:
- No rain occurred on most days between August 1-10 that was an unfavorable factor for moisture accumulation and tillage before planting winter crops;
- Soil moisture in the south has been fully exhausted that is leading to critical conditions for tillage before planting winter crops;
- Weather conditions in the western regions are favorable for planting winter crops.
Weather forecast for August 10-16:
- Hot weather +25 ... + 34°С;
- The highest precipitation rates (20-30 mm) were seen in the western and partially central regions;
- Minor precipitation (5-15 mm) occurred in the northern, central and eastern regions;
- Persisting drought in the southern and southeastern regions may adversely affect corn and sunflower development and aggravate conditions for tillage before planting winter crops.
