Along with a rise in wheat shipments, Ukraine continues stepping up exports of wheat bran despite a drop in its output in the country. In 2017, wheat bran production in Ukraine fell by almost 5% to 626.6 KMT.

At the same time, this product’s exports reached 330.2 KMT in the first half of MY 2017/18 that is higher 24% year-on-year (266.6 KMT in July-December 2016/17), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Traditionally, Turkey remains the top importer of Ukrainian wheat bran – the nation absorbed most of the gain in supplies. At the time, Turkish importers purchased 22% more wheat bran from Ukraine than a year ago (312.8 KMT against 256.6 KMT, respectively).

Apart from Turkey, Egypt also boosts imports of Ukrainian wheat bran again. Egypt annually imported 15 to 45 KMT of wheat bran from Ukraine in 2008-2015.
