According to port data, in March 2019 Romania exported 453.6 KMT of corn, which was 49% higher than in the same month of 2018. Key buyers of the month were Iran, Spain, Lebanon and Turkey.

In September-March 2018/19 Romania shipped 3081 KMT of corn via ports, which was 17.7% more than over the same period of 2017/18 due to higher export potential. Compared with the same period of 2016/17 exports are up 61%, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Lower demand from Spain, Italy and UK is compensated with higher shipments to Lebanon, Libya, Egypt and in March also to Iran. Moreover, exports to Turkey remain strong and almost in line with record pace noted in the same period last season.

According to the estimates of UkrAgroConsult, in 2018/19 MY (September-August) Romania has all the chances to improve its corn export statistics and increase corn shipments no less than by 30% y/y which will be the second largest result for the country.
