30 December, 2021 at 14:12

2.8 MMT of Russian wheat was exported in October. This is 45% lower compared to September and -39% from October 2020/21. Exports since the beginning of the season had totaled almost 15 MMT (-10% y-o-y), UkrAgroConsult reports.

Four months into the current grain marketing year, Iran remained the top buyer of Russian wheat (the country is reported under the category “Others”). Its share in wheat exports from Russia approximated 25%.

Many traditional importers reduced wheat purchases from Russia compared to the same period last year: Turkey (-1%), Egypt (-44%), Azerbaijan (-26%), Bangladesh (-73%), Israel (-13%).

The exceptions are the following: Nigeria (+2% y-o-y), Kazakhstan (+31%), Saudi Arabia (up nine fold from a year earlier), Iran (up 13-fold).
