Ukraine will manage to export 600 thsd tons of barley at a favorable price

Barley exports from Ukraine in the current season are ahead of last year's figures due to active purchases by China at the start of the season. In the first two months, China purchased significant volumes of Ukrainian barley, which gave a powerful impetus to exports, said Maxim Kharchenko, an analyst at UkrAgroConsult, during the All-Ukrainian Forum “Agronomist's Day”.

In September, China stopped purchasing because of sufficient domestic harvest, and Ukrainian barley started to enter traditional markets such as Spain and Jordan. According to the analyst, by the end of the season, Ukraine has about 600 thsd tonnes left to export, and the current pace allows us to count on profitable sales of the remaining stocks.
