Planting of spring grains and pulses is 5% behind last year. However, this week’s weather conditions in Ukraine allowed farmers to accelerate planting and narrow the year-over-year gap in its progress, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Ag Ministry reduced its acreage forecast for early spring grains by 0.7%, to 2,231 Th ha.

Corn planting is 4% behind last year. Sunflower planting is 8.6% behind last year (-13.6% as of May 13, 2019).  Soybean planting is 30% behind last year (-38.2% as of May 13, 2019).
