Real-time data on harvesting progress as of August 22 showed that farmers had harvested 560.8 KMT (+17% from the same time last year) from 235.3 Th ha (15.1% of the forecast area of 1577.4 Th ha) with yield at 2.38 MT/ha (+26%). Rape planted area reached a record 1.58 Ml ha, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Owing to an expected record yield of 1.4 MT/ha, the crop will exceed 2 MMT for the first time ever.
Exportable supplies of rapeseed will rise, setting a new record (+8% from MY 2018/19). Belarus and China will continue to be the biggest importers.
Due to an increase in both crushing capacities and the rapeseed crop, domestic consumption of the commodity will grow by +10% from MY 2018/19.
