Mayonnaise production in Russia increased by 2.5% in 2014-2018, to 866.1 KMT against 844.7 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The rise in production of mayonnaise and mayonnaise sources in Russia is fueled by the following factors:
- a weakening rouble and growing prices for foreign-produced commodities;
- the transition to import substitution;
- falling selling prices for mayonnaise production feedstock, i.e. vegoils, eggs and sugar;
- CIS countries strengthening their demand for the products.
Mayonnaise production in Russia features apparent seasonality: its volume increases every year in November and December.
According to forecasts, production of mayonnaises and mayonnaise sources in Russia will continue climbing in 2019-2023, on average by 0.3% a year.
