Recent updates on the “grain deal”

After the temporary (April 17-18) russian blockade in the Bosphorus, vessel inspections were resumed. In addition, during the negotiations of the Deputy Prime Minister of reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov with the Minister of Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar, a temporary scheme for the inspection of vessels of the "grain corridor" was agreed: 50% of the vessels will be inspected according to the list submitted to the Joint Coordination Center by the Ukrainian side. The other 50% of the list will be formed from the vessels that are awaiting inspection the longest and vessels of the UN food program.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will discuss “grain deal” with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York next week. As a reminder, russia believes, that the agreement was prolonged only till May 18.
