As expected, the mayonnaise market has been experiencing a seasonal production increase for a third straight month. So, in November 2018, mayonnaise output by Ukraine’s large and medium-sized crushers recovered to the two-year level, reaching 12.4 KMT against 11.2 KMT in the previous month.

However, 2018 mayonnaise production (January-November) was persistently below last year’s (down 2.1% at 109.3 KMT against 111.6 KMT in January-November 2017), staying at an abysmal low.

In 2018 the most substantial adverse impact was exerted by April’s figure, when mayonnaise production fell by almost 22% against the same month in 2017 (down 2.6 KMT).

Taking into account this year’s trends, UkrAgroConsult estimates annual mayonnaise output at 123-124 KMT. Thus, mayonnaise producers will be unable to maintain its recovery that started last year (125.5 KMT).
