USDA lifted its forecast for Black Sea grain exports by 1.3 MMT

In the USDA’s February report, the majority of estimates for Black Sea 2019/20 grain production and exports remained unchanged from January’s forecast. The changes concerned the following positions:

  • The forecast for corn production in Ukraine was raised (+300 KMT),
  • The forecast for corn exports from Ukraine was increased by 500 KMT,
  • The forecast for wheat exports from Kazakhstan was increased by 800 KMT.

Overall, the forecast for Black Sea grain production was lifted by 0.2% (to 198.6 MMT), and the export estimate grew by 1.2% (to 109.7 MMT).
