Romanian corn exports are up 13% y/y

According to the port data, in January 2019 Romania exported 329.1 KMT of corn, which was 21% higher than in the same month of 2018 and 68% more than in January 2016/17 MY.

56% of the January 2019 corn exports were destined for EU countries with Germany, Italy and Spain as top buyers. Egypt and New Zealand were key importers among the 3^rd countries, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In September-January 2018/19 Romania shipped 2486 KMT of corn via ports, which was 13% more than over the same period of 2017/18 due to higher export potential. Compared with the same period of 2016/17, exports were up 47%.

Corn exports to Germany are record high for the reporting period and 455% higher than in September-January 2017/18. Netherlands increased imports by 325%.

Lebanon and Libya are top destinations among 3rd countries this season. Turkey imports correspond last season`s record pace.
