Crop condition:

Following comparatively warm weather on November 1-20, when the average air temperature was 1.3-8.4ºC above normal, it became slightly colder on November 21-23.

Due to the temporary cold spell in snow-free conditions, the soil temperature at the 3 cm depth was +3.8ºС. As of November 25, the soil was frozen to 4-16 cm depending on the region, even up to 28 cm in Kharkiv region.

The soil temperature at the tillering node depth (3 cm) bottomed out at -1-6ºC in the eastern, central, northeastern, Ternopil, Sumy, Zaporizhia regions, even at -7-9ºC locally in Sumy and Donetsk regions. In the rest of the country it stayed above 0ºC.

In the Steppe and most Forest-Steppe regions (Cherkasy, Kyiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia) the crop growing conditions have deteriorated compared to the multi-year average.

The reason is critically low topsoil moisture. Winter crops are rated fair to good. Farmers have finished planting winter grains and harvesting grains and pulses, UkrAgroConsult reports.

Moisture supply:

Precipitation in the form of rain and sleet occurred almost all over the country.
