January 2023. A drop in agricultural exports through all logistics channels
2 February, 2023 at 13:02Exports in the first month of 2023 may fall to their lowest level since the opening of the grain corridor in August 2022. The drop concerned all the logistics routes. This was especially noticeable in the Black Sea ports, as only 18 vessels loaded with 737 K mt of agricultural products left them on January 1-10 (compared to 34 vessels on December 1-10, 2022).
On average, 2-3 vessels per day departed from Ukraine’s ports on January 1-24. At the same time, exports in the latter half of January increased as priority was given to large-tonnage vessels.
In total, 37.5 M mt of agricultural products have been shipped abroad since the beginning of MY 2022/23:
- 24 M mt through the grain corridor (48.6% of total exports)
- 49 M mt through the small Danube ports (22.6%)
- 69 M mt by rail (17.8%)
- 8 M mt by trucks (10.1%)
