Ukraine. Corn exports to the EU increased fourfold

Ukraine exported 4663 KMT of corn during the three months in MY 2018/19 (September-November), or 112% more than in the same period last year (2202 KMT). This is the largest volume for this time since MY 2013/14, UkrAgroConsult’s analysts report.

3123 KMT of corn was exported in November 2018/19. This is twice as much as during the first two months this season and up 97.4% from November 2017.

The top buyers of Ukrainian corn in September-November 2018/19 included the EU, China, and Libya. At the same time, exports to the EU increased more than fourfold compared with the same period last season, while shipments to Libya were up 110%. Turkey is also a major importer of Ukrainian corn – the country boosted purchases by 125%.

At the same time, the reporting period witnessed a significant decline in exports to key consumers of Ukrainian corn such as Israel and Tunisia.
