Ukraine. Early grains harvesting is almost completed

According to the latest information, as of August 14, the pace of harvest is still being ahead of last year for wheat (+3%), barley (+7%), oats (+7%), winter rapeseed (+29%), reports UkrAgroConsult.

Rye harvest has slowed down to 18% behind last year.

Pea harvest is actually complete; the total crop is 25.3% lower than last year.

The following crops show higher yields than last year: wheat (+10.7%), barley (+16.1%), rye (+5.3%), oats (+4.9%).

Winter rapeseed yield is down 5.5% from a year ago, 8.3 Th ha is left to be harvested, with a total crop 21.9% higher than last year.

Farmers planted 168 Th ha to winter rape out of the projected 1073 Th ha (16% complete); this year’s planting progress is 20% behind 2018.
