Ukraine and Poland agreed on the restoration of transit of Ukrainian agricultural products. It will resume at night April 20-21, 2023. Additional control measures will be applied to the transit, which will be notified to market participants publicly in the near future. The ban on the import of Ukrainian products to Poland will remain.

As a reminder, Poland decided to ban the import of agricultural products from Ukraine under the pressure of farmers' protests, which began after the supply increase and falling prices in the region. The ban came into effect on the evening of April 15. Later, similar decisions were announced by Hungary and Slovakia, but they, unlike Poland, did not ban transit.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine said on April 15 that the Polish ban contradicts bilateral agreements on exports and called for negotiations to resolve the issue.

On April 16, the European Commission declared that unilateral actions on trade by the member states of the European Union are unacceptable.
