According to the State Development Program of the Ag Ministry of Kazakhstan (2017-2021), oilseed plantings are to reach 3 Ml ha by 2021, with yield at 1.02 MT/ha and the crop at over 3 MMT.

Growth in crushing capacities and a strategic export destination such as China require an increase in raw material sources, UkrAgroConsult reports.

According to forecasts of the Ag Ministry of Kazakhstan, the area planted to oilseeds in 2020 will reach 3 Ml ha. Oilseed production will expand into all the regions except for two ones.

Oilseed planting is ahead of last year: 950.8 Th ha has been planted as of May 15, 2020 (31.6% complete).

UkrAgroConsult expects Kazakhstan will gather a new oilseed crop record (2.7 MMT in 2018) in both cases: with a record yield or at the three-year average yield.
